Regenerate Pennine Lancashire

Regenerate Pennine Lancashire (formally Elevate East Lancashire) is delivering a Housing Market Renewal programme to rejuvenate neighbourhoods with high numbers of terraced houses, many of them empty. HMR funding is used primarily to refurbish homes, and to clear unpopular properties to make way for a wider choice of better quality homes. People living through these changes inevitably feel concerned about their futures. Regenerate wants to give them reassurance and a real say in the changes, and was the first pathfinder to implement a creative programme funded by Arts Council England.

Regenerate’s belief is that culture and creativity play a vital role in creating sustainable communities and making places attractive. The company’s cultural programmes such as the Creative Community Engagement, Design & Heritage Pennine Lancashire, Dreaming of Pennine Lancashire (Includes Pennine Lancashire Festival of Food and Culture, Chic Sheds and Sound Investment), Living Places Partnership and Creative Enterprise & Entrepreneurs are just some of the ways in which Regenerate are delivering culture-led regeneration.
