‘Ginger Dan’, a saucy sculpture of a woman in her underwear leaning on a huge ball of hundreds and thousands, is perhaps one of the more thought provoking pieces of the series.

Burnley's Coat of Arms becomes work of art

The heraldic coat of arms of Burnley Town is being recreated using little-seen items from the collections at Towneley Hall plus everyday things found in the town itself.
The initiative, which is part of the year-long ‘Town/House’ project by international artists team Simon Grennan and Christopher Sperandio, sees recognisable elements of the town’s coat of arms replaced with unique items from the Hall.

Photography students will be looking through the lens at the people of Blackburn as the Blackburn LET Shop becomes a walk in studio.
The students from Blackburn College will be taking portraits of visitors and displaying them in an exhibition at the shop in town hall square.

Located in public parks, streets and squares, the pianos are for any member of the public to play.
Liberating Empty Terrain launches in Hyndburn

LET aims to use town centre spaces to showcase the work of creative industries from across the Pennine Lancashire region. The spaces will be a mix of outdoor spaces and empty shops. Creativity Works would like to invite you to work with them on a new art project taking place this summer in Accrington. Working in partnership with the Haworth Art Gallery and Hyndburn Council, Creativity Works have invited artist Sarah Jay, to take up residence in Accrington market. An artist with national experience Sarah has an interest in working with communities’ stories, heritage collections and craft techniques.
