LETs Do Stuff
In Pendle there was a week of 'LETs do stuff' with all kinds of exciting workshops and drop in activities. This included making a large elephant sculpture out of dessicated coconut, building and floating small rafts in the centre, as well as more traditional art activities including painting, portraits, casting and sculpture. The full programme is below.

Pavement art – chalk drawing on the pavements of Nelson – LET’s draw!

Keith Parkinson: Abstract Stuff
Abstract painting – is it just chucking paint at canvas or is there more to it than that?

Charlotte Carman: Drifting Stuff
Create Little Drifters to float in our pond. For people of all ages, students, lawyers, professional craft boat designers, “totally un-artistic people”, bass-guitarists, wizards, cat-people, anyone who likes to have fun!

Beverley Chapelhow: Roc Hard Stuff
Create simple hand or foot relief casts – painted, varnished and suspended from the ceiling.
Good fun, messy and achievable for all ages.
1– 3pm
Donna McKno: Dotty Art Stuff
Using spots of acrylic paint to create individual or group artwork on different surfaces. Bring your own items to decorate.

Linda Erliz: Willow Stuff
You will be shown how to make a lantern using willow and tissue paper. The lantern can be used for displaying in an outside space or as a processional sculpture.
1– 3pm
Ruth Hempsall: Body Stuff
Make the moulds using hands and feet and cast great sculptures in plaster. Good and messy!

Tracey Eastham: Collage Stuff
A collage workshop using tracings of imagery found in books and magazines to create layered heraldic designs that express your individuality – a personal ‘tag’.

Gosha Gibek: Stencil Stuff
Design an illustration of a world of dream using stencilling techniques - create your own wallpaper!

10am – 3pm
Jose Antony: Food Stuff
Deli Sculpture – Using moulds, making sculptures from Indian food stuffs. Taste the food, make your own piece to take away and join in with the big Chapatti Elephant Sculpture.
