Pennine Lancashire Creatives don't have to go it alone

Most local authorities in the area have a dedicated arts officer to help you with your ideas and put you in touch with others.

There is also a dedicated Creative Industries Development Officer.Ed Matthews-Gentle go to www.creativelancashire.org for more information.

These are the people who have got together to set up this website specifically with the intention of helping you get access to ideas, training and advice to help you develop your work or enjoy creativity in the region more fully.

This year’s prestigious awards ceremony will take place on 17th September 2009 at the recently refurbished Grand in Clitheroe.

All nominees or nominators must complete Section A followed by the form appropriate to the catagory below

 

Best new branding campaign

 

We’re looking for a branding campaign by a Pennine Lancashire design agency completed between January 2008 and June 2009.  We’re looking for the story.  What was the brief? What or who is the target market for the company or product being branded? How was the practice selected? How did the designers work with the client? What research was done? How versatile is the branding?

 

This could be a new brand or the significant development of a brand for a company, a product or a project.  We want to see how the branding is being used and what difference it has made.

 

  • What did both parties bring to it?
  • What value did the collaborative process bring?
  • Is it aesthetically pleasing; fit for purpose and appropriate?
  • What impact has it had to date?
  • How well is it working so far?

Section B - Best new Branding

  

Creative solution to a space

 

We’re looking for a creative use of a space, conceived, designed, managed or located in Pennine Lancashire between January 2008 and June 2009.  It could be a space that has been newly designed or a creative use of an existing space. Nominees may be architects, landscape architects or interior or retail designers, artists or clients.  We are not looking for web or virtual spaces.  The space can be private or public; Indoors or outside. We are looking for creativity and innovation. We want to know why this space is creative, special, unique or inspiring.

 

What was the brief? What was the relationship between the client and designers and how did it come about? Who are the users of the space and how is or how could their lives be improved by it?

 

  • What did different parties bring to it?
  • What value has collaboration played in the process?
  • Is it aesthetically pleasing; fit for purpose and appropriate?
  • What impact has it had to date?
  • How well is it working so far?

 Section C Creative solution to a space

Student

(Award sponsored by Inspiring Minds and Creative Partnerships)

 

We are looking for a creative student, (post 16), studying in Pennine Lancashire who has shown entrepreneurial flair and is the most likely to become a successful asset to the creative workforce in the near future.  We have some very creative colleges and courses in Pennine Lancashire developing the Creative leaders of the future.

 

Why is this individual the entrepreneurial student for 2009? What entrepreneurial qualities have they shown?  Where do you see this student in five years time?

 

  • What is the potential for growth?
  • What intellectual partnerships has the student developed?
  • How has the student developed networks and partners?
  • What is their vision?

Section D Student

  

Best new product

 

We are looking to celebrate a new product of which the development has involved considerable creative input. The product must have been developed in Pennine Lancashire or must have had significant input from a creative industry or individual from Pennine Lancashire.

 

The product must have been developed or launched between January 2008 and June 2009.  What is the story? How was it developed and brought to market? Why was the creative input central to its development? Who was involved?

 

What do we mean by product? It may be an object, a service or a virtual tool.  

 

  • What did different parties bring to it?
  • What value has collaboration played in the process?
  • Is it aesthetically pleasing; fit for purpose and appropriate?
  • What impact has it had to date?
  • How well is it working so far?

 Section E Best new product

 

 

Creative use of digital technology/media

 

We are looking for creative innovation and/or good practice in developing or using new technology. The project must have been developed or launched between January 2008 and June 2009.

 

Why is this project different? Who is it for? How was it developed?

 

  • What have different parties contributed?
  • What value has collaboration brought to the process?
  • Is it aesthetically pleasing; fit for purpose and appropriate?
  • What impact has it had to date?
  • How well is it working so far?
